RV Specialty Recipes

We are all very much excited when it comes to our road trips or vacation with our family and friends. Sometimes we are just contented with what we bring when on the road but it is more important if we prepare and plan things that will have a special effect on our vacation.

For Snacks:

Holiday Eggs-All you need to prepare are: 1 pound sausage meat (spicy); 6 hard boiled eggs, ½ tsp. dried basil leaves; ½ tsp. dried thyme; ½ cup flour; 1 cup breadcrumbs; 1 tsp. salt; 2 beaten eggs; 1 tsp. salt; 2 tsp. pepper; 1 tsp. paprika and cooking oil for frying. Boil the eggs and peel it then set it aside. Divide the sausage to six equal portions. Mix the breadcrumbs with paprika, pepper and salt and set aside. Mix the spices together with the sausage and set aside. Roll the peeled eggs in flour for the coating. Using your hands, take one sausage and shape a coating around the egg and enclose it. Roll it in flour for the second time and deep it in beaten egg and in the breadcrumb mixture afterwards. Repeat this procedure with the remaining eggs.

For Desert:

Vacation Banana Glaze-Things to prepare are: 3 ripe bananas; ½ cups chocolate chips; ½ marshmallows; M&M’s. Slice the banana forming it like a boat buy cutting them from end to end. In each foil, place half of a banana on it. Place ¼ cups chocolate chips, marshmallows, M&M’s on the banana. Wrap the banana loosely by aluminum foil. Place it in a barbecue for 3-5 minutes until the toppings melt. Remove the banana from the barbecue, unwrap the banana and enjoy the desert. You can also top it with ice cream and whipping cream. It might be really nice when it’s chilled.

Salads and Soups:

RV Nest Salad-Ingredients include: 1 egg; 3 cups chow mein noodles; 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt. For the egg salad, prepare the following: 6 hard-cooked eggs, chopped; Lettuce leaves, optional; 1/3 cup mayonnaise; 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt; 1/3 cup finely chopped celery; 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice; 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion; 1-1/2 teaspoons ground mustard; 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion; 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley. Beat the egg in a small bowl then add the noodles and garlic salt. Into a baking sheet, drop by 1/3 cupfuls into it; Shape it like a nest using your fingers and make an indentation in the center of each. Bake it in 11-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Let it cool for 2 minutes and serve.

Breads and Pastries:

Road Trip Crunchies- Get ready with your: 1 tube (7-1/2 ounces) refrigerated home-style biscuits, separated into 10 biscuits; 1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine; 1/3 cup crushed corn chips. Arrange the biscuits in a round baking pan and brush it with butter. Sprinkle it with corn chips and press it into the dough. Bake for 14-16 minutes at the temperature of 400 degrees and until appears golden brown.

Fruits and Veggies:

Motor Home Apple Sauce- You need: 8 to 10 large tart apples, peeled and cut into chunks; 1/2 to 1 cup sugar; 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon; 1/2 cup water. In a slow cooker, combine apples, cinnamon, water and sugar and stir gently; cook it for 6-8 hours until the apples tender.

RV Celebrates Burning Man Festival

Burning Man festival is an annual festival held in Black City, Northern Nevada as a form of radical self-reliance, radical self-expression and community experimentation. The festival takes place during the last week of the month of August until the day before Labor Day.


This historical event first took place on summer solstice in 1986 when group of friends namely Jerry James, Larry Harvey and some of their friends burned a wooden man which is 9 foot in height and a smaller wooden dog during their bonfire session. It signifies their spontaneously radical expression and this became a yearly ritual for the people in Black City.


This year, Burning Man Festival starts on August 30th to September 6th. Its theme is entitled “Metropolis”. The things to bring are water, food and shelter (RVs is the best advice for visitors.
